Guardian Coverage Availability & Fees
When you enroll in a Guardian policy, the details of each plan will be different, including the premium, deductible, and annual maximum. It is up to you to determine what you would like to pay each month for access to top-quality care should you require the help of your insurance company when receiving dental treatment.
As you review which plan is right for you, the benefits listed will largely be the same and look something like the following:
- 80-100% Preventive Care (i.e., Dental Checkups and Cleanings, Dental X-Rays)
- 50-70% Basic Services (i.e., Dental Fillings, Simple Extractions)
- 0-50% Major Services (i.e., Dental Crowns, Complex Extractions, Oral Surgery)
You will notice that orthodontics and dental implants are not typically covered. If you are interested in receiving coverage for these specific treatments, you’ll want to make sure you’re enrolling in a plan that provides it. Otherwise, you’ll be left to find other ways to pay.
When using your dental insurance, it’s important to remember that it is worthwhile to keep your six-month dental checkups and cleanings, as these will cost you little or nothing out of pocket. However, you are encouraged to meet your deductible early on in the year should you require minor or major restorative care later on. The reason is that your insurance company will not pay more of your bill until you meet your deductible.
