Metal-Free Dental Restorations

In the past, repairing your teeth often meant also altering your smile’s appearance, as is the case with noticeable metal fillings and crowns. However, at South Windsor Dental, we have a variety of metal-free restorations that can rebuild your teeth and blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile.

Using all-porcelain crowns, we can repair chipped, cracked, decayed, and severely damaged teeth and make them look like nothing ever happened to them.

For smaller cavities, we can utilize tooth-colored fillings. Rather than using dark gray amalgam, these fillings are made of a composite resin that can be specially shaded to perfectly match your natural tooth color, making them practically invisible. And, for a quick fix for small chips and gaps, we can use a treatment called direct bonding. For this, Dr. Curcio will apply a liquid composite resin to your tooth, and layer by layer, sculpt away any imperfections it might have in color and/or shape. It takes less than an hour and results easily last for 10 years or more.

At-Home Teeth Whitening

You’ll simply need to wear the trays with the gel for about 30 minutes a day for 2 weeks to see complete results, though we bet you’ll notice a difference after just one treatment. With our kit, you can make your smile up to 8 shades whiter in the comfort of your own home!

Icon Treatment

Do you have white spots on your teeth? It’s not a very desirable look, meaning you’re probably looking for ways to address it.  If you have uneven discoloration because of fluorosis or dental trauma, you can ask our team about Icon treatment. This is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a special resin to give your smile a more even appearance. Resin soaks into the enamel, filling in areas without adequate mineralization, turning your grin into one you’ll proudly show off.

Cosmetic Dentistry FAQ’s

Are you considering cosmetic dentistry? If so, you’re probably curious about the treatment process. That’s why our cosmetic dentist in South Windsor has included the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about cosmetic dentistry. Keep reading to get the information you need in order to confidently improve your smile.

Does My Dental Insurance Cover Cosmetic Dentistry?

Unfortunately, insurance typically will not cover cosmetic dentistry because these services are seen as elective. However, our friendly front desk staff are pros at maximizing your insurance benefits while minimizing out of pocket spending. In some cases, your insurance may be able to cover certain aspects of your treatment. We also have simple and affordable financing options to allow all of our patients to experience cost effective and quality dentistry.

Can My Teen Son or Daughter Benefit from Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry can benefit anyone who wishes to improve their smile’s appearance. However, in the teenage years, looks are especially important. With socializing like first dates, dances, and more, a smile full of imperfections can impact your son or daughter’s self-esteem. Thankfully, Dr. Curcio has a variety of cosmetic services to improve the appearance and health of your child’s smile. She will carefully examine the issues affecting their teeth before making a proper recommendation.

How Do I Know if Cosmetic Dentistry is Right for Me?

Because there are so many different cosmetic dentistry options, one of our services is bound to be right for you. However, the best way to know is to schedule a consultation with our office. Dr. Curcio, an expert dentist in South Windsor, will carefully look at the condition of your oral health, your dental structure, and any imperfections that affect it. After, she will be able to develop your personalized treatment plan that includes information like the number of necessary appointments, price, and more.

I have Multiple Cosmetic Flaws. Which Service is Best for Me?

While it’s difficult to recommend the best service for your smile without examining it first, one of our most popular treatments is porcelain veneers. That’s because they are designed to cover the entire front surfaces of your teeth, eliminating a wide range of cosmetic flaws. Whether you have chips, cracks, gaps, slightly crooked teeth, or misshapen dental structure, our custom-made porcelain veneers can deliver you the smile of your dreams.

How Long Does the Cosmetic Dentistry Process Take?

Because there are so many different cosmetic services that we have to offer, treatment times can vary. Our teeth whitening can be completed in just one visit, and Dr. Curcio can give patients cosmetic bonding in about an hour. However, more involved procedures like porcelain veneers will require multiple visits to our office. During the first, we will prepare your teeth and take impressions of your smile. Then, you’ll come back into our office where we will permanently bond your veneers to your teeth.
