As dental professionals, our team wants nothing more than to\nmake sure the patients of South Windsor Dental are informed of the best ways to\nprotect themselves during this uncertain time. In our most recent blog post,\nyou can find information regarding signs and symptoms to look out for of\nCOVID-19 and what constitutes as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southwindsordental.com\/emergency-dentistry.html\">\u201cdental\nemergency.\u201d<\/a> This way, you\u2019ll know exactly when it\u2019s time to call our office\nfor emergency care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2>Important Updates Regarding Our Office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on strong recommendations from the Connecticut State\nDental Association, we are currently closed for routine care. However, Dr.\nCurcio is still prepared to see patients on an emergency basis and can be reached\nthrough the office. If you have any questions, please leave them at <strong>978-687-5900\n<\/strong>and your call will be returned as soon as possible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With that said, it\u2019s very important that you know the signs\nand symptoms associated with COVID-19 and what you can do to protect yourself\nfrom the infection moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Signs, Symptoms and Best Practices for COVID-19<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,\nthe most common symptoms associated with COVID-19 include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Fever<\/li><li>Cough<\/li><li>Shortness of breath<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you experience any of the following emergency warning\nsigns for COVID-19, you should seek medical attention right away. These\ninclude:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Trouble breathing<\/li><li>Persistent pain or pressure in the chest<\/li><li>New confusion or the inability to arouse<\/li><li>Bluish lips or face<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in mind that this list is not inclusive, so always\nconsult your medical provider directly for any other symptoms that are severe\nor concerning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>How to Stay Protected<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Health Organization offers an easy way to remember\nthe best ways to protect yourself from infection. Consider the steps below to\nensure you\u2019re doing your part to stay healthy as well as prevent the spread of\nCOVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Hands<\/strong> \u2013 Wash often with soap and water\n(you can also use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol if soap Is not\navailable)<\/li><li><strong>Elbow <\/strong>\u2013 Cough into it when no tissue is\navailable<\/li><li><strong>Face<\/strong> \u2013 Avoid touching it (unless you\nliterally just washed your hands)<\/li><li><strong>Space<\/strong> \u2013 Keep a safe distance(the CDC\nrecommends six feet) from others<\/li><li><strong>Home<\/strong> \u2013 Stay inside whenever you can (only\nleave the house for essential business)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>When is a Dental Issue a Dental Emergency?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re not sure when is the right time to call for a\ndental emergency, we\u2019ve got you covered.
